CADET COLLEGE SKARDU (PAKISTAN)

Cadet College Skardu is a military high school, located in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

Cadet College Skardu is one of the best of its kinds in Pakistan. It is not only training cadets in curricular activities but also in non-curricular activities. Its mission is to make Pakistan an educated country. The Motto of this college is "We Beat the Best.

The mission of Cadet College Skardu is to groom and educate young minds with a view that they may excel in all professions, especially in Armed Forces of Pakistan.

 The campus of Cadet College Skardu is located in the center of Skardu valley next to the Skardu airport in Hotto town. 

The college is approximately 7,000 feet (2,100 m) above sea level. Total area of Cadet College Skardu has 75 acres (300,000 m2). Total number of houses eight installed in the institutions.

Cadet College Skardu was established in 2001. It is first institution of its kind in the Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan. The college was funded by the Federal Government and is being administered by the Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs.

The foundation stone of the college was laid in 1994. Phase-I of the College has been completed at a cost of Rs.150 million. The College Campus, which includes two hostels, accommodations for staff, academic blocks and planned civic facilities.

Academics

Up to Secondary Level, the College provides uniform science education, the medium of instruction being English. At Higher Secondary Level the students are offered the following combinations, in addition to compulsory subjects:

• Pre-Engineering: Physics, Math and Chemistry.
• Pre-Medical: Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

Achievements

When the pioneer batch appeared in SSC-I exam held under FBISE, the college got the highest CGPA among all institutions. Since then, it has maintained its position at the top. Although no individual student has ever topped the FBISE, the collective GPA has been highest every year, at both SSC and HSSC levels.

Cadet College Skardu is easily accessible by road and by air. Skardu is linked to Islamabad International Airport by a daily flight. It takes about forty five minutes to fly from Islamabad to Skardu.
